Class of 2024 Hall of Fame Nominations Now Open

Jackson, Tenn. | The Lane College department of athletics has opened its nomination process for the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024 to the public.

The Hall of Fame was re-established in 2011 to honor the men and women who have brought distinction both to themselves and to the College through their participation in Lane Athletics.

Since re-stablishing the Hall in 2011, a total of 14 members of the Lane community have been enshrined in the Hall of Fame. The 2024 class is slated to be inducted in the fall.

The nomination process for this year's class will close January 15th.

To be considered for selection, the candidate must be eligible in at least one of the following:
 
(A) Athletic Ability
1. Must have received significant athletic recognition at Lane College in at least one sport;
2. Must not have participated in Lane College program for at least five years;
3. Must be a graduate of Lane College.
 
(B) Alumni coaching away from Lane College
1. Need not have been an athlete at Lane College;
2. As a coach, must have been given specific recognition among candidate's peer group;
3. Consistency should be a significant factor as it relates to candidate's coaching;
4. Must not be coaching or playing at Lane College for at least five years.
 
(C) Lane College coach
1. No active coach shall be inducted into The Hall;
2. There must be a five-year period between the completion of a former Lane College's coach's career and their nomination into The Hall.
 
(D) Meritorious service to Lane College Athletics
(E) Contribution or service to Lane College Athletics
