Baseball honors seniors on final weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Lane College baseball team wrapped up their season this weekend with a series against Clark Atlanta where the team honored its four seniors.
 
Jordan Smith, Omar Thompkins, Jermyn Brock, and Pharaoh Smith graduate as the winningest senior class in school history, collectively having been a part of 49 program wins.
 
The foursome was also a part of the 2020 HBCU National Championship campaign.
 
Game one saw Lane strike first when Randall Jackson homered in the opening frame.
 
Aggressive base running in the second inning added three more runs for the hosts and Walton Thompson registered an RBI single in the fourth inning.
 
Clark Atlanta threatened in the fifth, adding three runs including a home run from Kam Manuel.
 
A bases loaded walk from Jordan Smith provided an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth and Kevin Brown rounded out the scoring with an RBI single in the eight to plate Jeremiah Brown.
 
Caleb Osee got the win in 6.0 winnings of work while Thompson earned the save, going 3.0 innings.
