Dragons take home contest against Tougaloo

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Lane College volleyball team hosted a nonconference match with Tougaloo College on Saturday, defeating the Bulldogs 3-1.

Bre'elle Hawkins led the Dragons with 23 points on 19 kills and four aces. Tamari Mitchell and Maia Thompson had 15 points each while Jazmyne Jones had a season-high 44 assists while also leading the team with four blocks.

The hosts hit .284 as a team with 53 kills while holding the visitors to a .143 attack percentage with just 32 kills. Lane also held a major advantage in service aces, finishing with 16 compared to the Bulldogs four.

The Dragons are back at home on Tuesday, September 21st, when they host Oakwood at J.F. Lane Gymnasium. Game time is set for 5:00 PM.
