BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 25, 2019) - The Lady Dragons took a slim five-point halftime lead and stretched it to as many as 26 points in the second half as they advanced to the second round of the 2019 SIAC Basketball Championship Tournament, send home Paine College 70-52 on Monday evening at the Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Addie McNeely led all scorers with 18 points off 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Senior forward
Porche' Hannah was right behind her teammate, finishing with a double-double, dropping in 17 points while pulling in 13 rebounds. Senior guard
Antrice McCoy also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points.
Chasity Moore also added 11 rebounds in the game. Â
The Lady Dragons take on Benedict College, who finished a perfect 15-0 in SIAC play this season, on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. CST. The two teams met once this season, with the Lady Tigers picking up a 65-61 win over Lane College. Benedict jumped out to an early 12-0 advantage but the Lady Dragons cut the lead to 30-26 at the half and actually tied the game at 59 with just under two minutes left to play but Benedict made six straight from the free throw line to pick up the four-point win on Nov. 26, 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina.Â
