Dragons fall in quarterfinals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 1, 2018) - A second half shooting slump and struggles at the free throw line were more than Lane College could overcome as the Dragons saw their season come to an end to Claflin University, 65-60, Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the 2018 SIAC basketball tournament in Birmingham, Ala.
Junior forward
Kendarius Ash picked up his 20th double-double of the season, finishing the game with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Ai'Shontis Sanders also finished in double figures, dropping in 10 points in the loss.
During the tournament festivities, Ash was named the 2018 Defensive Player of the Year, the second straight year the Atlanta, Ga. native has earned that honor. He was also name to the 2018 SIACÂ first-team all-conference team.Â
