JACKSON, Tenn. (February 3, 2018) - Tied at halftime and separated by a single point after three quarters, every indication was there that this game between the Lady Dragons and the Lady Golden Tigers would go down to the wire.

With just over five minutes remaining, Lane College clung to a slim two-point advantage. And that's when they made their run to pull away to a convincing 86-73 win over visiting Tuskegee University on Saturday afternoon at JF Lane Gymnasium.

The run started with a put back layup from Ashley Gayle, followed by a 3-pointer from Destiny Irvin. The next play Antrice McCoy got a steal and an easy layup. The Lady Dragons finished the run with four points at the charity stripe and in less than two minutes, an 11-0 run gave Lane College a 13-point lead and a little breathing room for the remaining three minutes of play.

McCoy had a season-and-game high 30 points including a season-best 16-of-19 from the free throw line. Chloe Roberts also had a season-best 21 points off of 13-of-16 from the charity stripe. Gayle picked up a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The Lady Dragons have a quick turnaround as they host Miles College on Monday evening. Tip off from JF Lane Gymnasium is set for 5:30 p.m. It will be the last regular season game this year played at the gym on Lane's campus. Senior night on Feb. 10 will be played at Oman Arena.
