Lane drops season finale in Ohio

Wilberforce, OHIO (November 3, 2018) - After falling behind early 17-3, the Lane College football team put themselves back into contention mere seconds before heading into the locker room, thanks to a two-minute drive led by senior quarterback Marcus Reynolds that culminated when he connected with Quantavious Wilson in the back of the end zone to cut the Central State lead to a single score.

But the Marauders came out of the break red hot on offense, scoring on their second play from scrimmage 66 yards to stretch the lead back to a 24-10 advantage. Central State would score on their next two possessions to extend the lead to 38-10 before the Dragons were able to respond. By that point, the hole was dug too deep for the Lane offense to dig themselves out of as the Dragons season would end with a 45-22 loss, snapping the team's three-game winning streak. Lane finished the season at 3-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Reynolds finished his last game as a Dragon 23-for-44 for 311 yards passing and three touchdowns and 38 yards rushing. Omauri Hampton, in his last game at Lane, tallied 101 yards on eight receptions.

This season, two of the three Lane College wins came on the last play of the game including a game winning field goal from senior kicker Vicente Pena to beat Mile College 15-14 and a 100 yard interception for a touchdown from junior defensive back Randall Johnson to secure the 34-23 win over Kentucky State in Hopkinsville, Kentucky last week.
