Lane College held their own with the No. 1 team in the SIAC Western Division early Monday night, but the Lady Marauders showed just why they were the dominant team in the West, pulling away to a 38-24 halftime lead and extended their lead by eight in the third period.

But there is no quit in these Lady Dragons, as they fought and crawled their way back in the final ten minutes, outscoring the visiting team 22-10 to a 10-point deficit before time ran out, falling at home 67-57 Monday night at JF Lane Gymnasium.

Chloe Roberts flirted with a double-double, leading all Lady Dragons with 13 points. She also pulled down nine rebounds. Antrice McCoy and Destiny Irvin both finished in double figures, scoring 12 points apiece. Irvin scored all of her points from beyond the arc, finishing 50 percent in three-point shooting. Mariah Hopkins had a season-best 12 rebounds in the loss.

The Lady Dragons host Tuskegee University this Saturday in Jackson. Tip off from JF Lane Gymnasium is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST.
