TUSKEGEE, Ala. (January 22, 2018) - Trailing 31-14 at halftime and by as many as 23 midway through the third period, a lot of teams would just roll over and live to fight another day. But not these Lady Dragons.
Eventually falling 66-59 on the road to Tuskegee University on Monday afternoon, the Lady Dragons fought back until the end with
Rickera Martin nailing a three pointer as time expired to cut the lead to single digits. Martin finished with a game-high 18 points, 16 of those coming in the second half.Â
Chloe Roberts added 14 points partly thanks to her 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
Ashley Gayle pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
After struggling early, the Lady Dragons shot over 53 percent in the final 20 minutes.
The Lady Dragons return home this Saturday for the first of a five-game home stand when they take on Kentucky State University. Tip off from JF Lane Gymnasium is slated for 2 p.m.
