Coach Nylah Lloyd is a Memphis native with a lifelong passion for volleyball and athlete
development. She began playing in the sixth grade and competed throughout middle and high
school at Ridgeway, where she earned honors including Best Hustler, Offensive Player of the
Year, and All-District AAA Conference recognition. A versatile player, she competed as an
outside hitter, middle hitter, and setter.
Nylah continued her academic and athletic career at Philander Smith University in Little Rock,
Arkansas. After joining the team as a walk-on with an academic scholarship, she earned an
athletic scholarship before her freshman season. As a four-year middle and outside hitter, she
was named Second Team All-Conference in 2020 and First Team All-Conference in 2021. She
also helped lead the Lady Panthers to the program's first appearance in the Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference Championship match, where they placed 2nd. Nylah graduated cum laude in 2022
with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Now entering her fifth year of coaching club volleyball with Bold Athletics, Coach Lloyd is
dedicated to developing fundamentally sound, confident, and well-rounded athletes. She trains
players at every position while emphasizing leadership, accountability, and teamwork. Currently
pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science
Center, she combines her knowledge of movement and performance with her passion for
mentoring the next generation of student-athletes. "Watching athletes gain confidence, develop a love for the game, and achieve their goals is
what makes coaching so rewarding. Volleyball has given me so much, and I'm grateful for every
opportunity to give back while continuing to grow alongside my players
