Khalid Campbell

Khalid Campbell has joined Lane College Athletics as Assistant Athletic Director of Operations in the summer of 2026, bringing a diverse background in collegiate athletics that includes coaching, athletic operations, recruiting, sports information, player development, branding, and organizational leadership.

Before joining Lane College, Campbell spent three seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Mississippi Valley State University, where he contributed to all facets of the program, including recruiting, scouting, player development, social media marketing and management, practice planning, game preparation, travel coordination, analytics, and day-to-day basketball operations. During his tenure, he helped recruit and develop one of the nation’s top scorers Michael James (the 2026 SWAC Newcomer of the Year) while assisting in the continued growth of the Delta Devils program and MVSU athletics as a whole.   

Prior to Mississippi Valley State, Campbell served as assistant women’s basketball coach, as well as aided in athletic operations and sports information at Mississippi Delta Community College. During the 2022-23 season Campbell helped guide the Lady Trojans to a 16-11 record and an NJCAA Region 23 Elite Eight appearance after the program doubled its win total from the previous season.

In addition to his work in collegiate athletics, Campbell is the founder and owner of Camp Scout Technologies, a sports technology and creative solutions company focused on helping athletic departments, coaches, and student-athletes streamline operations, recruiting, digital branding, and organizational efficiency. His entrepreneurial background complements his experience in athletics administration by combining innovative technology with modern operational practices. Campbell has also worked in Sports Operations and Digital Creative with HBCU All-Star LLC, contributing to the inaugural HBCU All-Star Game in New Orleans. His professional experience includes collaborations with media and Non-Profit initiatives involving WNBA legend and Atlanta Dream co-owner Renee Montgomery, further strengthening his background in event operations, digital strategy, and media.

A native of Greenwood, Mississippi and a graduate of Greenwood High School, Campbell played collegiately at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff under Hall of Fame coach George Ivory from 2016-20. During his playing career, the Golden Lions advanced to the 2018 SWAC Championship Game while Campbell served as vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and earned recognition as a Carolyn F. Blakey Honors College student and member of the Student-Athlete Honors List. Â
