Brazia Jones

Brazia Jones joins the Lane College Women's Basketball program as an assistant coach, bringing an impressive combination of collegiate coaching experience, player development expertise, basketball operations knowledge, and a passion for helping student-athletes achieve excellence on and off the court.

Jones arrives at Lane following three seasons as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), where she played an instrumental role in strengthening the program's competitive performance, player development, and daily basketball operations. During her tenure, the program improved from just 10 combined victories over the three seasons preceding her arrival to 26 wins during her three seasons on staff.

At UAM, Jones was actively involved in practice planning, game preparation, scouting, guard development, performance evaluation, and the coordination of daily basketball activities. Her ability to combine strategic preparation with individualized instruction helped elevate player performance and contributed to the program's overall improvement.

Her impact was reflected in the development of several standout student-athletes, including Alindsey Long, who improved her scoring average from eight to 13 points per game and earned 2025–2026 Great American Conference (GAC) All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. Bailey Harris also earned back-to-back GAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and finished her career among UAM's top eight all-time scorers with 1,450 points.

Before entering collegiate coaching, Jones served as Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach at White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee. There, she contributed to game strategy, practice instruction, statistical analysis, player development, and basketball operations. Her work helped prepare several student-athletes for collegiate opportunities, including Division I players Demia Bess (Murray State), Lyric Cole (Tennessee State), Mikiya House (Queens University of Charlotte), and Demi Gentry (Southeastern Louisiana).

Equally committed to academic achievement, Jones supported student-athlete academic progress at UAM, contributing to two GAC Elite Scholar-Athlete recognitions and six conference Academic Honor Roll selections.

A former collegiate student-athlete, Jones played basketball at Millsaps College from 2014 to 2018, contributing to 58 team victories over a three-year span and two Southern Athletic Association (SAA) championships.

Jones earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Millsaps College in 2018 and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Memphis in 2022.

As she begins her first season with the Lady Dragons, Jones brings a competitive mindset, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to developing confident, skilled, and academically successful student-athletes. Her experience in player development, game preparation, and basketball operations will be valuable as Lane College builds on its historic 2025–2026 season and pursues SIAC championship and NCAA Division II postseason success.
