Antonio Wallace

Antonio Wallace is in his first year at Lane College where he will serve as the Running Backs Coach while also assisting with Strength and Conditioning. Before his tenure in Jackson, Tennessee Wallace has served in a multitude of roles ranging from professor, coach, strength specialist, and nutrition expert. Most recently Wallace served in the capacity of Associate Head Coach and Co-Defensive Coordinator at Lincoln University of Missouri.

Before his tenure at Lincoln Wallace spent three seasons at FCS upstart Campbell University where he was the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Ends Coach. Wallace’s special team’s unit led the Pioneer League in kickoff coverage and were also ranked as high as 18th nationally. His defensive unit also was ranked #3 in the conference in total defense and was 17th nationally allowing 322 yards per game.

From 2013 to 2016 Wallace was the Co-Defensive Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Fayetteville State University. He also mentored and instructed the defensive line unit. Here Wallace produced 8 players who would matriculate to the NFL as well as a multitude of All Conference and All-American performers. His defense finished second in run defense in the entire nation, first nationally in turnover ratio, and 5th in total defense in the CIAA. Wallace also implemented and built the Strength and Conditioning program in all aspects. In this capacity Wallace designed and implemented workout programs, supervised graduate assistants and work study students, coordinated nutritional programs and research, and orchestrated summer and post season workouts.

Prior to this engagement Wallace spent 5 years at Florida A&M University where he served as Assistant Athletic Director of Athlete Development and in the capacity of Strength and Conditioning Coach. In this role Wallace lead the performance and conditioning efforts for the entire athletic department which consisted of approximately 500 student athletes. He was responsible for day-to-day program operations, facility management, and had an operating budget of over 50,000 dollars.

In 2004 Wallace accepted his inaugural role in collegiate athletics at his alma mater Alcorn State University. Here he worked with the defensive line, special teams, and in strength and conditioning. Through dedication and desire Wallace was moved into the role of Linebackers Coach and eventually took over the special teams unit.

After transferring from the University of Connecticut Wallace had a productive career at running back at Alabama A&M University. In 2003 he matriculated from Alabama A&M with a degree in Industrial Engineering. In 2005 Wallace obtained a Masters degree in Health and Physical Education from Alcorn State University.

Wallace holds professional memberships with the AFCA, Glazier Clinics, and holds certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
