Carl Bowie has been coaching 18 years on the USATF and AAU, and high school track & field circuit. While coaching on the youth club circuit Bowie has coached several high school state and national champions. He has several athletes that have become NCAA Division 1 national qualifiers, as well as all-Americans and national champions. He also has an athlete that has qualified for the upcoming. In, 2017, he had a stop at Lemoyne Owen college as a volunteer assistant coach, in which he led the men’s cross-country team to a respectable 4th place finish out of 13th in the conference following a previous year finish of not scoring as a team. Coach Bowie is most proud of his former athletes have obtained their bachelor’s and master’s degrees from various colleges and universities. Coach Bowie has proven to get the most that he can out of scholar athletes at all levels. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Bowie started his college career at Arkansas State University where he majored in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He had a stellar college career where he served as team captain, while becoming an NCAA Division 1 national qualifier on the 4x400 meter relay team. Bowie was also earned multiple Sunbelt Conference and American South conference championships. Bowie was prepped Memphis Central High where he was a three-year State cross country finalist and State Champion in the 800 meters and 4x800 meter relay. He was also “Best of the Preps” finalist, while being the only athlete from the Memphis area to win an individual race that year.
