Stinnett leads Lane in sweep of LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Kaylee Stinnett had a record-setting weekend for the Lane College softball team as the Dragons swept rival LeMoyne-Owen to move to 29-9 on the season.

Series Notes

  • Stinnett set a new school record for RBI in a game when she drove in seven runs in game three of the series
  • The Las Vegas native finished the weekend with a .750 batting average (9-for-12) with 12 RBI, five doubles, and three runs
  • Shawna McNair led the Dragons in batting average; the sophomore infielder was 8-for-9 (.889) in three total games with six runs, two RBI, and one stolen base
  • Joslyn Soinila was 6-for10 with two RBI and a double
  • Aspyn Beattie finished the weekend with seven RBI, six runs, four doubles, and three stolen bases
  • The Lane pitching staff surrendered no earned runs in 24.0 total innings
  • Jersey Cabana (15-4) picked up two complete game shutouts; Cabana went 10.0 innings and struck out 12 batters
  • Autumn Phillips (9-4) also got two wins, going 11.0 total innings and striking out 12 batters
  • Jonni Sanchez (1) earned the save in game two of the series, pitching 3.0 innings of relief, allowing two hits and striking out four
  • Lane ended the weekend with 11 stolen bases
The Dragons will travel across town to take on Union University on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
