Lane goes 3-0 on opening weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. -  The Lane College softball team opened their 2022 season at home this weekend, hosting a three-game series with the Harris-Stowe State Hornets.

Runs came early and often for the hosts who plated 56 runs over the course of three games. Savanna Johnson led the way offensively, going 6-for-7 with four RBI and four runs scored.

Freshman outfielder/designated player Jayden McCarty drove in a team-high seven runs while going 6-for-9 at the plate and scoring seven runs.

Preseason All-SIAC pitcher Kayla Saul picked up two wins including a complete game in the opener that saw the senior strike out 12 batters.

The Dragons are back in action on Tuesday, February 15th, when they host Crowley's Ridge at the West Tennessee Sportsplex. Game one of the doubleheader begins at 1:00 PM
