JACKSON, Tenn. (April 6, 2019) - After falling in the first game, the Lane College softball team picked up a win in the afternoon game to earn a split with visiting Kentucky State University on Saturday afternoon at Muse Park in Jackson. The deciding game on Sunday was canceled due to wet conditions and will not be made up.
Game 1
KSU 5, Lane 3
The Lady Dragons took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third thanks to a throwing error by the Lady Thorobreds' pitcher but gave up two run home runs in the top of the fourth and top of the fifth and allowed another to come across in the top of the sixth. Lane attempted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh but fell short to drop the first game of the doubleheader.
Raelynn Lee finished the game 2-for-3 with a walk.

Lane 3, KSU 2
JaiMesia Parks scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the third to put Lane on the board and the Lady Dragons took their final lead of the game in the bottom of the next frame  when
Kristen Young and
Rickera Martin scored off a
Kyra Reed bunt single. Martin and Reed both finished the game 2-for-3.
The Lady Dragons hit the road this weekend when they travel to Alabama to take on Tuskegee University for a three game set starting with a doubleheader this Saturday starting a 1 p.m.
