Takes home silver in SIAC Championships

ALBANY, Ga. (April 20, 2018) - Darianna Anderson has single-handedly etched herself into the Lane College record books. Or should we say, leaped her way into it.

The freshman track and field high jumper set a Lane College record this season, successfully leaping 1.55 meters in a match this season, garnering her SIAC First Team honors, according to a release from the conference.

According to tn.milesplit.com, the 1.55 meters is a school record for Lane.

"It feels amazing, this being my first year," Anderson said. "Making history here is just a breathtaking feeling."

During the SIAC Championships this past weekend, Anderson leaped 1.52 meters, picking up a silver medal in the competition.

She said achieving the silver medal this year just gives her motivation for next season.

"It gives me motivation to work out and to stay focused to do everything I have to do to bring home another award next year," She said.

And as far as bringing home gold next year, Anderson has higher aspirations.

"Oh, we going platinum," She said.
